Friday, September 26 - Update #2

​Thank you all for your love, text messages, and prayers. They mean more than we can say. It’s been a really hard 24 hours.

EvanMarie is strong and stable, and in so many ways she is still her bright, happy, smart, and sassy self — smiling, talking, and cracking jokes — right up until the doctors or nurses come in to poke or prod her. And if you know her “judgy” eyebrows, you can imagine the look she gives them.

The CT scan did reveal several areas of concern, with the most significant being in her chest, heart, and lungs. There is also growth around her kidneys and liver. We still don’t know exactly what kind of cancer we are dealing with, but once we do, we’ll have a clearer picture and the doctors will get a treatment plan in place.

We are so grateful for the team at Texas Children’s Hospital. Their care, compassion, and expertise have been a great comfort in a really difficult moment for us.

For now, we continue to wait and trust, and we ask you to keep storming heaven with your prayers for EvanMarie’s healing and for wisdom for those caring for her. We feel your love, prayers, and support holding us up.
